biography
Mason Burbach studied art at Hastings College obtaining his B.A. in Studio Art in 2001. He served as student curator at the Hastings College Art Gallery and completed an internship study at the Haydon Gallery in Lincoln. His art has shown in numerous venues throughout the State of Nebraska. In 2003, his artwork in the Nebraska Arts Festival received the Nebraska Arts Council Choice Award. He has participated in national and international collective exhibitions including the 30th Bradley International Print and Drawing Exhibition at Bradley University in Peoria, IL, and American Impressions: Contemporary American Printmaking at William Patterson University in Wayne, NJ. He has taught art workshops as a guest artist for the Sheldon Museum of Art's Sheldon Statewide, Western Nebraska Community College, and the West Nebraska Arts Center. He has attended local, state, and regional arts conferences and participates in local arts activities. In 2012 he was selected to serve on the Editorial Advisory Board for Artland, a publication of the Sheldon Museum of Art. Burbach served as Executive Director of the West Nebraska Arts Center from 2007 to 2015. He is a current graduate student at Doane University, and enjoys exploring Lincoln with his wife, two children, and a black cat.
